A Watershed Moment For Online Gambling

On Wednesday May 1st Online Gambling had a weatershed moment, when Nevada became the first state that will allow players to play for real money, on internet gambling, with the launch of an online poker site that is Las Vegas based.

The chairman of Ultimate Poker said that instead of competing for business in the traditional poker rooms, the online option will help them grow new business.

Ken Adams, a Reno gaming analyst said he compared this to Reno in 1978, which was the MGM grand opening. He continued that they had never had a corporation like that before, it was a big player.

The target audience for this online poker are men between the ages of 21-45 who 'embraces technology' and they have a disposable income. The online poker site will be available 24/7 and the gaming guidelines stipulate that players must be 21 year old and be within the state physically when they play.

The poker games will be available for personal computers, and the accounts will be funded using Master Card, electronic wire transfers, and checks.
